The Azores is one of the world's re-nound destinations for being able to get up close to these amazing mammals, and a visit to these islands is not complete unless you have seen them in the flesh.
The Azores Archipelago is one of "THE" premier whale and dolphin watching sites in the world. With regular trips offered from the islands of Sao Miguel, Pico and Faial, you will have excellent opportunities to witness these amazing mammals up close. Sperm, pilot, and beaked whales are commonly seen, with the possibility of sightings on blue, fin, sei, minke and humpbacks at certain times of the year. This together with the playful and friendly dolphins you may encounter, (bottlenose, common, spotted, Risso's and striped) whose grace and speed will transfix you and your camera to the waters below.
Choosing which island to go to is a very personal choice. Each island offers something different and time should be spent discussing what you want to experience during your holiday.
